We adored creating the setting for this surprise rotunda proposal setting in Brisbane for this gorgeous couple. These 2 cuties met at school back in 2009 and there was an immediate attraction from the first time they saw each other.
He decided to propose to his unsuspecting girl on their 6-year anniversary. Knowing how much she means to him, he knew he wanted to make the proposal extra special, and he also really wanted the proposal to be a surprise.
He enlisted the services of us creatives at With Love Proposals and together we planned the perfect sparkling proposal to take place at sunset at the iconic New Farm Park Rotunda.
The proposal was planned to take place at sunset. So with this in mind, we created a beautiful light filled elegant space with lighting and festoon lights. The setting was adorned with an abundance of fresh pink roses and soft pink carnations, lining the aisle of fresh rose petals that would lead them to that very special moment.
Our groom to be loved the idea of incorporating a photographer to discreetly capture the moment – paparazzi style! Once the set up was ready our Photographer hid behind some bushes until we spotted the sweet couple walking towards us.
Holding hands as they arrived, he guided his girl towards the rotunda and walked her down the aisle of petals before dropping to one knee. Our Photographer discreetly captured it all from outside the rotunda without them even being aware that she was there!
Tell us about the proposal
It was the most memorable evening! The night of the proposal was our 6-year anniversary from the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. Having been together this long, I was simply just expecting that we were heading out for a nice dinner.
But little did I know I was in for such an amazing surprise! We arrived at Brisbane’s New Farm Park as the sun was beginning to set and I instantly saw this beautiful rotunda all lit up and I said ‘look, there must be a wedding going on’.
He was directing me closer to it and I’m telling him we can’t go near it as it’s someone’s wedding. Next minute he is leading me up the stairs and my eyes filled up as I saw the most beautiful setting of flowers and candles and I realised he was about to ask me to marry him.
It was the BEST surprise and he did it so incredibly well! He walked me down an aisle of fresh rose petals lined with flickering candles and pink roses, then he dropped to one knee and popped the question! Of course I said YES!
Taking it all in and gob smacked by the stunning setting and beautiful engagement ring he got me, we relaxed with sparkling wine and nibbled on a cheese and fruit platter.
It wasn’t until after he had popped the question, I noticed he had even arranged for a photographer to be there who captured it all!
After we had spent time at the rotunda enjoying a celebratory drink, we had a few photos then headed off to a beautiful restaurant by the water.
I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal from the man I love. The set up for the proposal was absolutely amazing, he did an awesome job, and we are both so grateful for everything that With Love Proposals did to make it such a magical moment for us.
